Shaped Wedding Rings – Create the Perfect Match for your Engagement Ring

by Silvya Curtis on October 21, 2009

A shaped wedding ring can be designed to fit perfectly next to your engagement ring. Here are some of the popular shaped wedding ring designs.

Twisted wedding rings

Shaped wedding rings are available with a single pinched twist at the top. The twist creates a V that enables it to fit alongside the setting of a solitaire gem engagement ring.

The styling detail of the twist – and its exact dimensions are customisable so that it can fit almost any type of engagement ring.

Wishbone wedding rings

The shape of a wishbone wedding ring helps it to sit correctly when worn with an engagement or eternity ring. The size and shape required for the wishbone V is dictated by the profile of the engagement ring. Wishbone rings work very well if your engagement ring has a large gem setting.

Wishbone rings can be made in almost any metal – and have diamonds incorporated into the design for a special touch.

Contoured wedding ring

Contoured wedding rings are custom made to snugly follow the shape of an engagement ring to give a seamlessly integrated appearance.

Your jeweller will typically take your engagement ring and from it produce a wedding band shape that follows the lines of the engagement ring.

An added benefit of well made contoured wedding rings is that they are more comfortable to wear and much less prone to pinching.

Contoured wedding rings set with dazzling diamonds are the perfect way to signify your everlasting love. You can choose the number of diamonds you want to be set in your ring according to your styling preference and budget.

At Bliss Rings, we offer a custom design service where help you to design a beautiful wedding ring based on the metal, finish and design details you require.

Our expert jewellers will craft the band to fit snugly together with your engagement ring. Find out more about our shaped wedding rings.

Shaped wedding rings are still very popular but many people feel they look a bit odd when worn without the engagement ring. Most engagement ring designs these days are so-called wed-fit or snug-fit styles which allow a plain, straight ring to sit flush against the engagement ring without producing the much detested gap.. the only problem with this is that when the man buys the engagement ring, he is not aware of the directly related decisions he is making (shaped wedding ring or not – and the metal of course as the wedding ring will ideally be of the same metal.

Shaped wedding rings are great and an english-american phenomena because we are the only countries wearing both rings on the same finger…!

Hi,

I have an 18ct white gold marquise diamond engagement ring, with circular stones surrounding the central marquise cut diamond (see link for image of exact ring http://www.fraserhart.co.uk/p-1470-18ct-white-gold-ring-049ct-diamond-total-diamond-weight.aspx
I need a wedding ring to sit with it, shaped so that it will be flush with the engagement band. I really like the look of the last band on this page, the V shaped one studded with diamonds, could you please provide me with an initial quote and timescale? I’m a bit nervous about sending my engagement ring through the post. Thanks, Charlotte
